Casada Medical - more than just a massage

When we created the first Casada Medical point in a Gorzów clinic in 2014, we had a vision. We wanted to create a place where everyone could receive a massage free of charge – a treatment that has such a positive impact on health and well-being, yet is inaccessible "on the spot" for so many people. We wanted to fill a niche in physiotherapy services.

Back then, we didn't yet realize how many other niches we would go on to fill…

Agat Sanatorium

Jelenia Góra smells of vacation regardless of the season. Guests stroll around the vicinity of the Agat Sanatorium – some in groups, others alone. It was at the Agat Sanatorium that the first Casada Medical point in Jelenia Góra was established.

In the Treatment Base on the ground floor, we created a small point with massage mats and foot massagers. From the very beginning, our offer was available to all guests – everyone receives a voucher for a series of free treatments that they can use during their stay. Over time, we were given another room – much larger, on the first floor. There, we created a massage point with massage chairs. We also set aside space for a Power Board vibration platform, where we also provide treatments for some patients – for some, these are strengthening treatments, for others, it is stimulation of metabolism, so necessary in the fight against extra pounds.

Treatments on massage chairs are also included in the voucher for guests – they can be used after finishing treatments on the massage mats. The order of the treatments is not accidental – massage on the mats is gentler; it allows the body to relax and prepares it for a series of more intensive massages on the chairs.

- Massages on Casada devices perfectly complement the range of sanatorium treatments – says Ms. Kasia, a physiotherapist from the Treatment Base. – We always recommend them to our guests. The relaxation effect alone is of huge importance, as it improves the effectiveness of therapy; the patient is relaxed, relieved, and positively minded. Actually, relaxation is extremely important in today's world…

Massages are also recommended by her colleague, Ms. Beata. Both physiotherapists emphasize the social function that Casada Medical performs.
- People are often lonely, blocked, and unable to reach out to others or make contact. And here they are motivated to do so.

Massage treatments at Casada Medical take place in groups; patients sit next to each other for several minutes, which fosters socialization. They are helped by Ela, who manages the Medical points at Agat. Besides, because these treatments are an additional offer, they serve as a pretext for conversation – you can start a chat with someone about them, ask if they have already been, how they liked it, and if it's worth taking advantage of.
- We ourselves like to use the treatments – the physiotherapists admit. – Our work is physically exhausting, and we have our own stresses too. Massages at Casada Medical allow us to regenerate quickly and gain strength for further work.

Which devices do they prefer?

- The chairs – Kasia says firmly. – The massage is intensive, just the way I like it.

An angel, not a woman

Ela has been coordinating the work of both Casada Medical points at the Agat Sanatorium almost from the beginning. No one else could do it as well as she does, because Ela simply has that special something – she wins people over from the first contact. It's not just the guests who adore her – the sanatorium staff also hold her in high regard.

- Ela gives patients what we often cannot – her attention. She talks to them, listens to their problems, and hears stories they have no one else to tell. She has a smile, a warm gesture, and a kind word for everyone. - The Marketing Department Director emphasizes the benefits that Casada Medical points provide to the sanatorium. - Most importantly, the patients are satisfied – and that is what matters most.

It is also important that the sanatorium has a unique offer. The majority of guests use the massage treatments at Casada Medical. Only about 4% of patients cannot use this offer, primarily due to conditions such as cancer or very advanced osteoporosis. Patients return. They return for the massages and… for Ela. Because Ela remembers everyone. She remembers their stories, illnesses, and massage preferences.

- Ms. Adela has a birthday tomorrow… - says Ela. – We are going to celebrate. The older lady's face brightens with a smile.

Patients

Ms. Adela is turning 75. She has lived with her husband in Germany for 40 years. She comes to the Agat Sanatorium regularly every year. And every year, she uses the treatments with Ela.

- Four years ago, I was supposed to have knee endoprostheses implanted. But I started taking care of myself. I ride my bike a lot, even though I have a driver's license. Rain or snow, I hop on my bike every day. And it turns out I don't need those endoprostheses anymore. – Ms. Adela laughs. – And besides, it's good not only for my health but also for my wallet and the environment. Benefits all around!

Ms. Adela uses a Quattromed massage mat and a FootInn foot massager on a daily basis.
- Prevention is the most important thing – she says seriously. – Here in Poland, it's still not talked about enough. And that is very bad! It needs to be talked about a lot because it allows people to enjoy health and be active for longer. Getting a massage at the sanatorium is nice, but you have to massage yourself every day. Just like you have to exercise and move every day. Everyone here groans, but if they could, they would drive their cars into the store. And Ela is the one talking about all of this. We just need to organize some big talks for her…

A photographer, who is now retired, is using the treatments again. He is likable, smiling, and cracks anecdotes one after another. Meanwhile, Ms. Elżbieta and her husband are at Casada Medical for the first time.
- How do you like the massage?
- Suuuuper… - Mrs. Elżbieta sighs, delighted. We agree that it would be best if she stayed in the chair forever. The doctor who consults the patients using the treatments at Casada Medical is very busy today. However, she catches Ela in passing and gives her a big hug.
- She is a golden girl – she says and rushes on.

Cieplice Health Resort

Casada Medical has been operating at the Health Resort since last year. - We are still getting up to speed – laughs Marlena. – Today is quiet because the turn finished and the patients have already left. Tomorrow another one begins, it will be happening again. Ela’s keen eye spotted the potential in Marlena. - She is likable, smiling, open… – all of which is very important when working with people, especially sick people who aren't always bursting with positive energy and humor. - Patients are satisfied, the treatments are very popular – says Marlena. The Casada Medical point at the Cieplice Health Resort is the largest of all the points. It contains massage mats, leg and foot massagers, and massage chairs. The health resort also distributes vouchers for free massage treatments to all guests.

MSW Hospital

The smallest Casada Medical point is located in the MSW Hospital. There are two sets here, consisting of a Quattromed IV S-line massage mat and a FootInn foot massager, as well as two massage chairs.

- This is an ideal place – says Ms. Gabriela, who runs this office. – The hospital patients are primarily people with neuroses, highly stressed. Occupational diseases, so to speak… We also have physiotherapy patients here – let's remember that the MSW Hospital has the best massage treatment base in Jelenia Góra. The Casada Medical activity profile fits both groups of patients perfectly.
- What are the patients' opinions?
- So far – only positives. Patients laugh that the devices are better than a masseur because they don't get tired, and the massage is always just as intense. Cooperation with the hospital staff is also going well. - Physiotherapists contacted us themselves to get to know our equipment and be able to consult patients. We are definitely on the right track and will continue to develop – says Ms. Gabrysia.

The author of the stir

The idea for Casada Medical was born in the mind of our CEO. However, the CEO’s best idea was to hand this project over to Sebastian Pawlak. It was Sebastian who created and coordinates the work of all three points in Jelenia Góra.

Sebastian has been associated with Casada for many years. He knows the range of massage devices, their potential applications, and medical indications perfectly. The "Casada Medical" project has consumed him almost entirely.
- We strive to develop the operations of all points to the level at which we operate at the Agat Sanatorium. Of course, Casada Medical at Agat is the oldest point; cooperation with its staff is well-established, and our office has already earned a reputation and trust. All of this takes time, but we are consistently working towards this goal.
